Nothing Phone 1 is set to make its worldwide debut on July 12. There have been a plethora of leaks and rumors surrounding his highly anticipated arrival. It is believed to be a mid-range offering which could cost somewhere between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000. It was recently reported that the smartphone features a fingerprint sensor under the screen. The report also mentioned that one of the sensors in its rear dual-camera setup would feature a wide-angle lens. Now, a notable tipster has revealed more alleged information regarding the fingerprint sensor and ultra-wide camera. The phone was also confirmed to come without a charger in the box.
According to a Tweeter by tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), the Nothing Phone 1 offers excellent camera performance for its price. Brar claims the ultra-wide sensor is capable of taking macro shots, seemingly eliminating the need for a third macro sensor. That could be why nothing was made for a dual rear camera setup with this handset. Additionally, the previously reported under-display fingerprint sensor is now considered an ultrasonic sensor.
Its global launch event is set to take place on July 12 at 4:00 p.m. BST / 8:30 p.m. IST. In a related development, an ongoing Nothing Phone 1 giveaway on the Technical Guruji YouTube channel gave us our first look at its packaging. The slim size of the case suggests that this smartphone will not be sold with a charger.
Nothing founder Carl Pei has confirmed that the Nothing Phone 1 will be powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. It is also expected to feature a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup. The smartphone has been designed to sport a 6.55-inch OLED display with support for adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. Additionally, the display and rear panel could be protected by Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is said to run on Android 12 out of the box.
Supposed pricing information for the Nothing Phone 1 has also leaked. The basic 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant would cost EUR 469.99 (around Rs 38,000) and the high-end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant could be priced at EUR 549.99 (about Rs 44,000). Finally, the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage could cost EUR 499.99 (around Rs. 40,000).
